1:1 Sessions
Guided Resonance
Anatomy of a Guided Resonance Session
Each session is held in Mary’s home art studio.
Compassionate Witnessing
Each session begins with focused attention and space to communicate what’s on your mind and heart. Inspired by psychologist Alice Miller’s fundamental concept of "enlightened witness”: a person who is willing to support an individual, empathize with them and help them to gain understanding.
Guided Sound Journey
Informed by what is shared during Compassionate Witnessing, a custom sound experience is tailored to the energy and intention of each guest. In my art practice I create sound sculptures designed to soothe the nervous system, which are used in each session. Guests get to rest on a heated table and grounding mat, with options to reduce inflammation through PEMF therapy and encourage cellular repair and mitochondrial activation through red light therapy.
Integration
Space is held to process and integrate the experience. Guests are given ample time to acclimate back to their day, and to share and explore the connections made during the session.
Notes & Reflection
Within 48 hours of your scheduled session, I follow up with in-depth notes from the Compassionate Witnessing portion of your session, along with personalized resources and reflection.

Guest Testimonials
From a Past Guest
“Mary is a deeply intuitive guide and my sound experience felt like the perfect container to process some big things in a very safe way. I left feeling lighter and more at peace than when I'd arrived. Her care and knowledge let me surrender into a deeply guided experience.” — JW
From a Past Guest
“When I arrived I felt pretty wrung out--when I left, I felt seen, held, and the first sense of peace I'd had in weeks.”
From a Past Guest
“Going in, I had been feeling pretty dissociated and depersonalized, far away. When I left I felt very connected to myself.”
From a Past Guest
“This experience felt like receiving a combination of the best parts of other forms of specialized individual care I've received in the past. It was the physical relief and comfort of a massage or chiropractic work, combined with the emotional release, motivation and inspiration of talk therapy. The way I felt completely immersed in sound and comfort without any external/internal distractions reminded me of sensory deprivation tanks.” — NS
From a Past Guest
“Holistic care in the truest sense, Mary's curiosity and light allows your entire self to be seen and comforted.”
From a Past Guest
“Mary was a guide to help me go on the journey I needed to go on that day…Truly this was an incredible experience and I was so moved by it. I do really believe it helped adjust some things within me that needed to move around.” — JH
From a Past Guest
“I arrived at the session feeling energetically drained and enveloped in sadness, with some body soreness. Afterwards I felt comfort and peace in being exactly where I was at. There wasn't a longing for something different or inner critical dialogue playing out. Physically, there was a notable relief from soreness. Just incredible.” —NS
A Note from Mary
Why Guided Resonance?
I deeply believe in the grass roots concept of peer respite: the idea that individuals who have had traumatic experiences, and the opportunity, privilege and duty to move through them are equipped to hold space for others in relatable situations.
As an individual who has gradually learned to manage complex PTSD through nervous system regulation and has integrated heavy trauma and grief, I feel very called and equipped to assist others working through similar, relatable experiences.
I pursued a career in art to create and find moments of connection with people. Guided Resonance Sessions allow me to do this with individuals in an intimate, sacred, 1:1 setting.
Why Sound?
Sound has fascinated me for many years now, and has been a primary topic of research in both my art practice and spiritual practice. In 2023 I became a Certified Sound Practitioner, under the mentorship of my dear friend Ann Sensing.
As an artist, I see sound (and light!) sculptures as the next evolution of my studio practice, and an organic continuation of my color field paintings expressed in the octaves of audible sound.
Community Support & Accessibility
I believe everyone is fundamentally deserving of care, regardless of economic circumstance. If you would like to experience a Guided Resonance Session and the financial exchange is out of reach, please reach out. I personally set aside one free session each month in the name of offering community support.
Additionally, if you are financially empowered and able to sponsor a free session, or would like to donate to our Guided Resonance Community Fund to contribute towards a free session for someone in need, thank you! You can do so below.
