To use art and artistic features within the space to regulate the nervous system through harmonic resonance.
To create (1) a peaceful sanctuary soothing to an individual experiencing PTSD, (2) an innovative and relaxing environment that can be used independently by a restaurant employee during a break to self-regulate effectively in 15-30 minutes, (3) and as a functional therapy space for Ramona Reid and Yvonne Constancio to perform Reiki and massage work (that meets the technical requirements of a “therapy space” and the logistical requirements of commercial building codes), while (4) looking really cool.

Sliding Selenite privacy Panel
Sliding selenite privacy panel for window
Beautiful seasonal light streaming through the windows
This element is made up of several parts, outlined below, that come together to form a privacy solution for the Mindfulness Center. Essentially it’s a sliding glass door, on a channel system mounted to the ceiling, illuminated with LED lights and finished with a custom painted treatment.
Healing Elements
In the tradition of the Folk Artists of Audrey, the paint covering the panel will be 1) handmade using an all-natural lavender derivative for oil paints and 2) the pigment will be ground out of rocks foraged from right outside of Nashville. The finished effect is a soft, frosted panel that will filter light through the transluscent particles of rock (See the sample image below).
In terms of vibration, as the light passes through this crystal material into the room, it will reflect/refract through these particles and this will change the structure of the light ever so subtly. If you think about air as a substance matter is moving through all the time, it is not a far stretch to think about the light and atmosphere of the room to be affected by the calming, vibration of this mineral. To give you a sense of what this would bring to the room, below is a quote on its metaphysical properties:
“The colorless beauty and translucency of selenite is often attributed to purity and peace in both metaphysical beliefs and color theory. Selenite is excellent to use when meditating or trying to achieve mental clarity, as it is believed to compel the person holding it to be honest with themselves.
Selenite is considered a high-energy crystal that vibrates at a high frequency. Despite being an incredibly soft stone, so soft a fingernail can scratch it, selenite gemstones are believed to be a stone of protection that wards the mind. It is commonly used by crystal practitioners as a way to cleanse the body, mind and spirit of negativity and self-limitation--as well as cleansing other gemstones being used in healing practices.” -Fire Mountain Gems
Logistics
Purchase a ready-made sliding glass panel/interior door custom fit to the window, apply the painted treatment to it onsite at Audrey, and then have it professionally installed with lighting that will illuminate the panel when it’s in its resting place (to the side of the window).
The painted panel is protected and up-lit behind the live edge “headboard” of the Plateau Table.
A mock-up of the panel up-lit behind the live edge panel.
Next steps
Sliding Glass Panel
This will be a prefabricated sliding glass door that we order in the dimensions specific to the space.
LED strip lighting (ideally in the same octave frequency/lumens as 528Hz) will give the piece a soft glow.
Link to door above
Painted Treatment
LED strip lighting (ideally in the same octave frequency/lumens as 528Hz) will give the piece a soft glow.
The glass door will likely have to be painted onsite (which can be done outside at Audrey on sawhorses, or in the room before the carpet is replaced).
Rocks have been sourced for this paint, I just need a few more supplies to manufacture the quantity we need for this element, if chosen for the space.

The Magic of 60 degrees
And it’s relation to
Perfect Shapes and 528 Hz
the magic of 60 degrees
Sean, you recently informed me that a lot of magic in cooking happens at 60 degrees.
Here’s the power of 60 degrees and it’s connection to 528.
From building hexagon frames (above!) I know the number of degrees in the mitered corner of a hexagon (or an equilateral six-sided polygon) is 60 degrees.
It is a shape basically made up of 6 equilateral triangles.
As in a circle, the total # of degrees in a hexagon equals 360 degrees.
There is something about 60 degrees and perfection. There are many triangles totaling 180 degrees, but an equilateral triangle is 180 (3x60) degrees. There are many six sided polygons totaling 360 degrees, but a hexagon is 360 (6x60) degrees. There are many ellipses, but a perfect circle is 360 (6x60) degrees. Have you heard that it is near humanely impossible to draw a perfect circle?
I’d like to link this perfection to archetypes, or this idea of Platonic forms. Something about the number 60 moves us closer to perfection. Plato talked about “forms” being the “non-physical essence of all things” and that objects in the world are like imperfect reflections of this ideal…the example we always used in philosophy class was that of a chair. Most every human can recognize a chair, but there is not one chair that defines all chairs in existence.
Even in math, these shapes exist in a rather abstract realm. In the real world, their “perfection” is only as measurable as humans most precise measuring instrument. For example, we can only claim a circle is “perfect” as precisely as we can measure it, which is limited by our technology and perception after a certain decimal point of accuracy. The number “60” may be a key to bring us as close as possible to geometrical perfection.
Perfection, in it’s purest state, does not exist in our world—our experiences in the natural world and everything we encounter are imperfect reflections of archetypical ideal.
This “archetypical realm”, I believe, is another dimension (6D) where an ideal version of our selves lives—our highest self. As we strive for perfection, we are guided toward this ideal state through our intuition. This is the voice inside you that keeps telling you to make more pizza.
I think everything in our phenomenal world has a corresponding perfect archetype that we cannot quite fathom in this three dimensional plane… it’s through the process of creating that we are able to receive that glimpse!
All perfect equilateral shapes can be encompassed inside a circle. Tesla demonstrated this, as illustrated by this 3 minute video.
If 60 degrees connects us to geometric perfection, and 360 circle holds all perfect equilateral shapes, examining what other phenomena we can structure around a circle could tell us something about its ideal, perfect state?
The relationship between 60 and 528
We can examine 528 relationship to perfection by wrapping it around a perfect circle.
To do this, it’s helpful to think of the circle of a clock.
528 Hz Tuning Fork
Hz “Hertz” means there are 528 Oscillations per second.
528 x 60 = 31,680
528 oscillations per second multiplied by 60 gives you the number of oscillations per minute, or 31,680 oscillations in one minute.
Visualize this divided on a Clock
528 oscillations in one second
31680 oscillations in one minute
Visualize this divided on a 360 Circle
31680 / 360 = 88
where,
31680 is oscillations in one minute /
360 degrees of a circumference of a circle
=
88 is the number of oscillations in
one degree of the total pie slice of the 528 Hz frequency.
The Common Ground Between a Circle and a Clock
Total degrees in circumference of clock: 360
Total minutes in an hour (or seconds in a minute): 60
360/60 = 6
So “6” is our common denominator
88 x 6 = 528
Multiplying 88 (one degree of oscillations of the circle) by 6, we get 528 Hz!
Oscillation
As you can see from the above, there are several different ways oscillations can play out.
When you look at the first figure which shows a dampened oscillation, you can think of sound dissipating as it moves through air.
Frequencies (in Hz & Cm wavelengths) for equal-tempered scale, measured using A4 = 444 Hz
In the yellow chart, which is generated using the 444Hz A tuning, you can locate the middle C5 at 528 Hz. Divided by two, it is C4.
C5 528 Hz/2 = C4 264 Hz
C4 264 Hz/2 = C3 132 Hz
you can also multiply by 2 and go up!
What’s interesting about 528 Hz being the “C” note is that every time is divides in half, it REMAINS a C note. This applies to every note.
Food, Alignment, and Perfection
The phrase “coming into alignment” can be applied to many different scenarios. There’s the physical alignment of our spine and bodies, the alignment of our energetic bodies (through reiki, acupuncture, etc.), the alignment of our actions with our values…I would make a case that moving through trauma is aligning the origins of our emotions with the events in our life—and that triggers are aligning the emotional volume with the timing of those events.
The entire universe is built upon octaves of itself. “Coming into alignement” could be uniting these octaves, creating a path of resonant harmony. I believe you are already doing this when you season green beans with the aminos of those beans, or create squash that roasts in octaves of itself. I would love to spend some time alongside you or Colby in the Audrey Lab, asking questions that ties your work back to the larger phenomenal universe.
Perhaps this research could be continued through a grant through the non-profit of Audrey, or with myself as a temporary employee. I am so fascinated by the intersection of my research with your vast, encyclopedic knowledge of food and cooking.

sound bowls
sound bowls and 528 hz
Studying the Solfeggio frequencies and Sound Healing led me to Quartz Sound Bowls. The sound from these bowls, as it dissipates, surges through the octaves of sound, re-entraining the energy to the frequency of the bowl on its way through the body. This happens on many levels: from the audible, to the palpable, to the cellular, molecular, down to the subatomic.
why sound bowls?
Sound bowls are intuitive to use
Healing will happen inherently, regardless of the users knowledge or skill, and the room is already soundproof
They are a relatively new invention (a byproduct of Silicon Valley in the 90’s) so there is no concern of cultural appropriation
There is no minimum time limit for their effectiveness
The resonant tones of the bowls clears energetic blockages in our body and bring us back to homeostasis (I think they are resonant with parts of our subconscious!!!—not sure how to prove this yet)
They are 99.99% pure fused quartz, and carry the metaphysical benefits of quartz (quartz powers our computers, clocks, and cars)
They can be lit from below to provide a soft light feature in the room. Like the panel, the quartz crystal will filter light and sound energetically in the room.
They’re beautiful objects!
Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, an oncologist (Western, traditional medicine) who incorporated sound healing modalities into his treatment plans, speaks of the benefits below:
Gaynor: I also use quartz crystal bowls. These are made out of the same quartz crystals that microchips are made out of. They can be tuned to any note and they’re incredible. When you play them, it brings out all sorts of tones, overtones and harmonics in your own voice. That can also be very healing. I think it’s very important for us to bring back some of the ancient wisdom. When I started looking into sound and healing I found that every culture on earth has used sound, voice and music as part of their healing rituals...
...We can look at ourselves as vibration, and so tone and voice and music effects us on every level. It’s important to know you’re exposed to disharmony every day. Cars honking at you in a traffic jam, a jackhammer when you’re walking along the street, or somebody yelling at you. But all these things can be retuned. We need to take time to retune our bodies, like we would a fine instrument. The way to do that is to take 15 or 20 minutes in the morning and another few minutes before you go to sleep at night to focus on your inner harmony.”

Pricing for a set as described starts around $2000

The Musical Scale
The Musical Scale of the sound bowls
For the room I’d like to recommend:
A set of eight quartz bowls in the C-Major Octave with 444Hz A tuning,
which makes the 5th Middle C 528 HZ.
This will center the 528 Hz bowl/frequency at the heart of the golden sprial of the room. A full C Major scale allows for the more musically inclined using the room to play songs in the C Major key. Including both the fourth octave C (264Hz) and fifth octave middle C (528Hz), I believe, will aid in the clearing of energetic blockages. The nature of sound from these sound bowls is rich and resonant, full of overtones and undertones. In my experience in working with these bowls, to “book end” yourself between two octaves of the same note feels beneficial…it’s as if the resonant sound of the low C and high C stretch towards each other, while bridging all of sound in-between the two notes. This becomes very interesting when you think of the C Major scale in terms of chakras, as each note of the scale relates to a chakra:
C = Root
D = Sacral
E = Solar Plexus
F = Heart = ~ 360 Hz
G = Throat
A = Third Eye = 444 Hz
B = Crown
C = Root = 528 Hz (Grounding/Rooted in Love)
I have more research about the specific healing Key of music if you are interested!
Through a process called “toning” you can use your voice to match the pitch of the bowl, to integrate that healing frequency surrounding you by using your voice to “match” and create the same resonant frequency from the inside-out! Sound moves through water at nearly five times the rate it moves through air.
When you think about the high water content in our bodies, it’s easier to imagine the transformative power of this toning technique. There is also evidence that the 528Hz frequency can actually purify water. This was successfully performed on a section of water from the BP Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
In 2010, John Hutchinson, an electromagnetic energy expert from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, helped purify poisoned water off the Gulf of Mexico following the BP oil spill. He and his research partner, Nancy Hutchinson (formerly Nancy Lazaryan), used the 528 Hz frequency and other Solfeggio tones to reduce the oil and grease in polluted water
...
Their results were certified by Dr. Robert Naman, President of Analytical Chemical Testing Laboratory, Inc. of Mobile, Alabama. Dr. Naman, an analytical chemist with almost 30 years in the field, tested the samples and confirmed the complete removal of oil and grease from the after treatment sample source tested.
As you can see, the amount of oil and grease “before” the frequency treatment was 7 ppm (parts per million, or milligrams per liter); while the samples that had undergone the frequency exposure measured less than 1 ppm. (Results)
If our bodies are mostly water, it does not seem like a stretch to me to assume the 528Hz frequency could remove toxins from the water in our bodies.

The bio tuning system
The Bio Tuning System Sound Table
There are many bio-mats and sound tables out on the market, and I know that was an important feature for you Sean in the room. The sound bowls are sort of the primal, manual version of this automatic tech. A digital system may offer more specificity and functionality.
The Bio Tuning System I would order based on my sound research is
The Bio Tuning System by Jeffrey Thompson
This technology stands out in two key ways: 1) Both the sound in the headphones and the vibrations of the table are binaural—most systems it is just the audible sound that has the right/left separation—this is important because the vibrations on the table can sync with the sound happening in the headphones and the light in the glasses. 2) The vibrations of the table itself also dissipate beyond our range of human hearing, allowing the octaves to continue to travel down. Our sense of vibration is separate from our sense of hearing, we can feel more than we can hear (maybe there’s a metaphor for life in this fact somewhere).
There is also a training program available with this table. From their website:
“The Bio-Tuning® System uses your personal Fundamental Frequency™ for healing and growth purposes. In each phase of the Bio-Tuning® process, you hear, feel and see your vibration and frequency, each segment working to balance and re-train the nervous system into a new level of neuro-synergy, a deeply centered state of homeostatic adaptive functioning. Homeostasis is the Zero-Stress State of the Autonomic Nervous System where the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic are in a state of equilibrium and balance. The state of Homeostasis is a prerequisite for healing to begin in your body. This sound portion of your session is recorded for you, either digitally or on a compact disc- your choice – utilizing our advanced sound technology. You then use this program every day at home, to continue the balancing effects on a daily basis. We are creating a “Learned Neurological Response” in the nervous system and the brain – like going to a gym on the inside- to re-train your brain’s control systems back to normal function. Healing comes from within when the system is not blocked from doing so.”

furniture design as a holistic, modular system
The Golden Furniture system
The furniture and measurements are derived from the Golden Spiral applied to the proportions of the rooms, which was already serendipitously built in the exact ratio of the golden mean. This is a pattern that is found in nearly all of nature, is revered by the great masters of art as a formula for asymmetrical beauty, and for these reasons I believe will bring inherent grounding and peace to the space. (Here is a short 3 min video on the
Golden Mean/Sprial.)
The furniture concept is modular, inspired by the mutli-functional storage elements found in tiny houses. Different built-ins join together to complete the Golden Furniture System, each component serving a function or housing a healing element of the space. The furniture is designed low to the ground to make you feel like you’re floating or stepping onto a cloud when you walk into the room. In this industry we are constantly on our feet—even to the point of each lunches standing up. The low-profile of this furniture hearkens to Japanese aesthetics, while the unexpected change of plane encourages you to arrive in the space and ground.

Plateau Table
This low-profile table stores the linens and grounding mats for the space, offering a section of “hardwood floor” for activities like yoga.

Harp Table
Harp TabLE for sound bowls
The low, curved bench will house a set of quartz sound bowls With short breaks, having the bowls already laid out and always ready to play will save a lot of time. An led light routed and installed underneath each bowl will transform them into an art feature of the space.
Underneath the bench, in sculptural alcoves, meditation cushions and mallets can be stored out of view.
The harp element was designed to provide a mindful barrier that protects the bowls, while also allowing the sound and light to move through the feature undisturbed. This can be fabricated from a fiber optic lit from above, creating a light shield that encircles the delicate bowls.
Alternatively, I could work with an audio engineer to play resonate frequencies of the sound bowls, using harp strings measured in harmonic octaves. When the sound bowls play, tones in harmony with those bowls will also play.
Taking inspiration from elsewhere in Audrey, glowing silicon mallets, echoing this stair installation, could be suspended from the ceiling to gently play the bowls passively, like wind chimes.

Plateau table
plateau storage table for grounding
The Plateau Table is place to kick off your shoes, and relax, and ground. In healing, hitting a plateau is a place to rest before resuming more work.
The table is designed low to the ground in the tradition of Japanese tatami furniture, which also provides a makeshift “hardfloor” surface in this fluffy, etheric space. The live-edge headboard protects and up-lights the sliding selenite panel. Panels on the surface open from the top, while drawers below provide deep storage. Store your phone in the charging compartment that also blocks signal (using a copper fabric lining) allowing you to completely unplug. A section of this table folds up into a low lounge chair lined with grounding mats.
This table stores the linens for the massage table, the weighted blanket, and grounding mats for the space.

Corner Bookshelf
The harp table eventually circles into the deep built in bookshelves on either end of the lit portion of the wall. The bookshelf on the left, visible when you walk into the room, will house a Quick-Reference Self-Care library. Rotating resources can be placed here in plain view. Mindfulness education resources could be curated on a monthly basis in the room to continue to inspire new methods of healing and regulating.
As this feature will be installed next to the window, a blackout curtain could be installed to pull out from behind the shelf, if that is a desired feature of the space.

salt Lamps
Salt lamps are said to provide health benefits because they are “natural ionizers,” meaning they change the electrical charge of the circulating air. It’s suggested that Himalayan salt lamps may produce ions by attracting water particles that evaporate off as a salt solution when heated by the lamp, forming mostly negative ions. (Healthline).
Tuning Forks
A Solfeggio set of tuning forks might be a lovely compliment to the singing bowls of the room, which are in a C-Major Key with 528Hz at its heart, but are not the Solfeggio Scale.

CONTINUING RESEARCH
continuing Research
Several areas of research have emerged from this project that have not quite reached their natural conclusion, and are beyond the scope of this room.
a new Healing Modality based on frequency
Each cell in our body, by holding our DNA, contains all the information that makes us a unique entity. What makes a particular cell express itself as a “skin cell” or “hair cell” has to do with electrical fields around our body—similar to the magnetic lines of the earth—that work with the electrons of these cells to organize them into their particular expression by working with the electrons of our atoms and molecules.
Disease is a disharmony that begins in these fields, eventually moving into the body. Each organ in our body emits its own unique frequency, and we can detect disease in these fields before it moves into our bodies by looking for “atonal” frequencies emitted. We can heal through the musical principle of entrainment: by playing the frequency of a healthy organ to a diseased organ, the sick organ will re-tune itself to the song of the healthy organ, and heal. I believe this is something Yvonne and I could work on, using acupuncture and a vintage voltameter I scored off ebay.
528Hz, Food & Perfection
Continuing from the earlier section, there is more to be explored with 60 degrees in cooking and 60 degrees as theoretical geometric perfection. I would absolutely love to nerd-out in the Lab at Audrey, working in concert with you and your team, allowing your culinary interests to steer my research and tie your artistry to larger themes in the universe.
The Musical Key
The musical key of the Sound Bowls I recommended, I believe to be the Key of David. This is mentioned in the Bible as a powerful sound healing modality. The notes of the key I can explain through math, and I am learning to make chimes to play these particular frequencies. This is something I’ve explored a bit with Ramona and Yvonne. I am meeting with an audio engineer soon who will help further this research. I am happy to keep you updated as this progresses, if you’re interested.

mindfulness education
A plan for continuing care offering inspiring ways to heal and build flexible routines.
When we are out of balance, one of the first things to go is remembering the resources that bring ourselves back into homeostasis. While I have done my best to make those resources intuitive to the room, it might be beneficial to have all of the options at your fingertips.
I envision an iPad dedicated to the space that hosts a website for the space. Employees can explore their options, schedule appointments with Ramona and Yvonne, and always have access to new resources that inspire rest and relaxation.

thank you
thank you
Sean,
As someone who has also had the privilege of healing, I know you understand the internal drive to alleviate suffering in others. I was barely on track myself a few years back, before I knew helping others would be a big part of my life’s work moving forward. To be able to contribute to the welfare of the team at Audrey in this way means more than I can say.
What you are doing to transform the industry is such a service to humanity. It is an honor to be involved in any capacity. The ripples you’re sending out into the world will resonate far beyond Audrey, the Continental, Joyland, and your inevitable SB Pizza Parlor. When your team experiences a compassionate work environment that considers their whole well-being, that will become their new internal standard for a happy workplace. It’s thrilling to imagine that impact.
Thank you to my Nashville Healers
There have been a few people that have been instrumental in my journey, and I’d love to share them with you here:
The Foundry Chiropractic
Dr. Andrew Burd is an upper cervical chiropractor with an office in East Nashville. His adjustments are made with great consideration to the nervous system, and a lot of my education about balancing the nervous system has come from conversations during appointments. He has moved so much stored trauma out of my body, and is someone I see regularly to come into alignment. His wife, Towne, is also an energy healer (a student of Ramona’s!) and a budding homeopath. I cannot say enough positive things about these providers and the care I’ve received here.
NCAT
I know this is an obvious one, but I had to honor the healing wonders of Ramona, Yvonne, and Joany.
Mary ARwen
Mary is my therapist. Mary's approach to therapy is gentle and precise, and is grounded in her confidence in people's inherent resilience and creativity. Her work integrates contemplative practice, humanistic philosophy, and psychodynamic principles.
